KYHC Care Network: KYHC has entered into direct agreements with a number of health care providers who may (or may not) also participate in the First Health Network. These providers with direct provider agreements are a part of the “KYHC Care Network.” The KYHC Care Network logo on the back of your KYHC Member Identification Card signifies to hospitals, physicians and other health care providers that KYHC uses the KYHC Care Network for medical, surgical and other types of Covered Services. As a general rule, providers in the KYHC Care Network will only be found inside KYHC’s Network Service Area. (KYHC’s Network Service Area is described in the next section).

Please Note: There are a few health care providers who participate in the First Health Network who do not participate with KYHC.  Before selecting KYHC as your health plan and before making an appointment with a medical or surgical provider, it is important that you contact the provider’s office to confirm the provider’s network status and to confirm if any practice limitations are applicable.

Health care providers typically participate in many different provider networks. When contacting a medical or surgical health care provider to inquire whether he or she participates with Kentucky Health Cooperative, it may be helpful to ask BOTH of the following questions:

  • Do you participate with Kentucky Health Cooperative through its "KYHC Care Network?
  • Do you participate with Kentucky Health Cooperative through the First Health Network?
