HEDIS®

As part of our commitment to members, KYHC carries out a yearly survey called the “Healthcare Effective Data and Information Set (HEDIS®). This survey provides us with the information on the healthcare services being provided to our members. HEDIS® includes the measurement of services being provided to our members such as:

  • Well Child Care for Children
  • Mammogram (Breast Cancer) screening for women
  • Colonoscopy (Colon Cancer) screening for men and women between the ages of 50 and 75

Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (CAHPS®)

CAHPS® is an annual survey where members are selected at random and asked questions about how they feel about their provider and the services they receive. The survey is a standardized tool that has been used for more than fifteen years. The end result, and goal, of the CAHPS® is to give us a better understanding of how our membership views the services they are provided and the people that provide them.

Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG’s)

“Clinical Practice Guidelines” are developed using standards of evidence based medicine. Based on history, outcomes and consensus of medical experts the CPG’s are parameters in which your physicians’ treatment plan is designed to produce the best possible outcome for each member.

Preventive Health Guidelines

What is preventive health care? Preventive care lets your doctor find potential health problems BEFORE you feel sick. Preventive care can include but is not limited to immunizations, lab tests, physical exams and prescriptions.
